Having enabled developers to go from a blinking cursor to a deployed serverless application in only 66 seconds is something we are very proud of. It is no coincidence that we have been spending a lot of time focusing on building a frictionless developer experience because we know that what impacts developer’s productivity is the ability to get into that flow state1 - and we care a lot about developers being in flow.
We want to make sure that you can do even more with Fermyon Cloud. That’s why we are announcing that we will be introducing a new subscription plan that will allow you to raise the limits for your resources in Fermyon Cloud.
The plan will allow you to run 100 applications on Fermyon cloud, each with their own domain. Across the 100 applications, you can store 2GB of data in the built-in KV store, and serve a total of one million requests. All of this for only $19.38 per month.
⚛️ Fun Fact: 1938 was the year Enrico Fermi, who gave name to fermions, received the Nobel Prize in physics.
Thousands of developers have explored Spin and Fermyon Cloud to see how easy Serverless can be, since we launched the open beta of Fermyon Cloud in October 2022.
In my opinion the Fermyon Cloud solution seems the next logical step in compute solutions
Our community’s consistent feedback has enabled us to introduce innovative features such as a built-in NoOps Key-Value database, custom subdomains, GitHub Actions, and metrics.
These features enable a wealth of use-cases you can solve with Spin and Fermyon Cloud, while enjoying the power of serverless WebAssembly. We’ve published numerous blogs to inspire you with some of the types of applications we’ve found enjoyable building with Spin and hosting on Fermyon Cloud:
- Building a social app with Spin (1/4): Project Setup and first API
- Bots With Spin and Fermyon Cloud
- How I Built a Like Button for My Blog with Spin
- Serving Static Content via WebAssembly
- PHP, Spin, and Fermyon Cloud
We’ve been talking about the efficiency of using WebAssembly as the next wave of cloud computing. The amount of resources we’re able to provide, for less than $20 per month, is a testament to how efficient WebAssembly can make a cloud service.
Anyone signing up for Fermyon Cloud, and everyone using Fermyon Cloud already, will all continue on the existing free subscription plan, and can choose to upgrade to the new plan. We will soon enable you to upgrade to this new offering from within the Fermyon Cloud interface.
We encourage you to spend less than two minutes trying out Spin and Fermyon Cloud by following this Quickstart - yes - it takes less than two minutes.
You can also head over to Rawkode Academy on YouTube, for a multi-hours complete guide to Spin

As always, we would love to hear your feedback on the subscription pricing. Please drop us a note at feedback@fermyon.com.
The recently released research paper “DevEx: What Actually Drives Productivity” describes how Flow State is one of the three core dimensions of developer experience: “Taken together, feedback loops, cognitive load, and flow state encapsulate the full range of friction types encountered by developers.”
